Background
Ranbir immigrated to Canada in 1986 and has been an active member of the Calgary community ever since. For over two decades, he worked as a transit driver with the City of Calgary, which provided him with a unique perspective on the everyday challenges and aspirations of residents. This role allowed him to engage with people from all walks of life, fostering a deep understanding of the issues that matter most to the community.
In addition to his professional career, Ranbir has been deeply involved in volunteer work, serving on numerous community boards, and leading various humanitarian efforts. He has successfully organized and participated in fundraising campaigns that have raised millions for causes such as healthcare, disaster relief, and local food security. His leadership roles include:
- **President of the Dashmesh Culture Centre:** Managing a multi-million dollar budget and leading initiatives to build and renovate community facilities.
- **Volunteer and Board Member:** Actively serving on multiple local boards, contributing to initiatives that improve the quality of life for residents.
- **Humanitarian Efforts:** Leading and organizing fundraising campaigns for significant causes, including:
